This Carers Week, with our theme focussed on ‘Caring About Equality’, we are calling for greater and much-needed action in support of the UK’s millions of unpaid carers.
Unpaid carers are the backbone of our society, propping up our fragile health and social care systems and providing essential care to friends and family who need their support.
However, carers face significant inequalities because of the care they provide, putting them at a greater risk of poor mental and physical health, social isolation, financial hardship, and poverty.
Our ultimate goal is to ensure that every unpaid carer in the UK receives the support they need. We think that starts with better coordinated cross-Government action in support of unpaid carers, leading to the delivery of a new National Carers Strategy. This must deliver tangible progress for carers and address the complex and interrelated challenges they are facing.
Now more than ever, carers need your help. Will you write to your MP today and ask them to support our campaign to help ensure carers get the support they need?
We have provided a template letter to help you get started. Please enter your details below and add your personal experience of caring and how it has affected you in the box provided before sending it. When you click ‘Next,’ you can review the template letter we have provided before sending it.
