Ask your MP to support our campaign to immediately halt Carer's Allowance overpayments
Over the last year, Carers UK has been raising awareness of the devastating impact that Carer’s Allowance overpayments have had on thousands of unpaid carers. Our campaign hit the headlines in 2024 leading to public outrage and promises from the new Government to act.
Despite the establishment of an independent review last October, between May 2024 and February 2025 the number of outstanding Carer’s Allowance overpayment debts has increased by over 9,000 with a staggering 143,922 people now affected.
This is deeply concerning. In response, Carers UK and 108 other organisations have written to the Secretary of State for Work and Pensions calling for an immediate halt to new overpayment debts until the review has concluded and its recommendations are acted upon.
We need your help to call for an end to this scandal!
✉️ Write to your MP and urge them to support our campaign by writing to the Secretary of State for Work and Pensions.
